Here at Richmond House we are looking for an Experienced Head Veterinary Nurse who would like a new challenge! We have recently recruited a new clinic Director who has been with the business for 4 years and achieved excellent standards at one of our other branches. She will head our mission towards excellence alongside our brand new onsite Practice Director. Your role will be a varied one and you will work and assist in all areas of the practice. This will be an exciting challenge as we build a clinical team from scratch. You will be involved in the recruitment of your nursing team, training and supporting them. You will be involved in the creation of internal protocols and policies around clinical aspects and will be well supported by a buddy who has undergone a similar project in a local practice. Richmond house is now looking to join the practice standards scheme, your role would be to work alongside the management team to achieve this. The rota is flexible, ideally 5 days per week but would consider 4, with no weekend work or out of hours initially. Working 40 hours per week but other hours will be considered for the right candidate.
You will also undertake all general nursing duties, including anaesthetic monitoring, inpatient care, assisting in ops, and in-house lab testing. Our surgery also provides a variety of Nurse consults with the scope to expand the services available to our clients. You will be expected to maintain high clinical standards and undertake infection control and equipment maintenance.

Salary up to £35,000 DOE plus benefits

About Us

We are a busy first opinion practice in Dewsbury that offers all routine surgery plus some more advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures. We are a 100% Small Animal Practice with a friendly and hardworking team. New equipment has been approved and our new clinic director Rebecca is excited to bring her orthopaedic surgery interests and skills to us. We are well-equipped with in-house laboratory equipment, digital x-rays, endoscopes, ultrasound, etc. The practice is located in Dewsbury with good transport links via bus and train to Leeds City Centre. We have a separate diagnostic x-ray/ultrasound room, in house blood testing, using the latest Idexx analysers, and Sedivue analyser for urine sediment analysis. Dewsbury is in a great central location in the fabulous county of Yorkshire, with many great locations close by including beautiful countryside and buzzing city locations.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for someone who likes a challenge! Our ideal candidate will be committed, enthusiastic, and hard-working. You will have either worked as a HVN or Deputy already or will be able to demonstrate experience in leadership, practice standards and a passion for delivering the highest standard of care. The successful candidate must be a registered and qualified Veterinary Nurse who is a proactive team player and who will deliver a high standard of veterinary nursing care.
