The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Richmond House Vet Centre.

There is scope for this position to be full or part-time hours depending on applicant preferences. There are no out of hours with this post.

A normal day in the life would consist of a good mixture of consult and surgery work depending on the rota for that day. We would try to incorporate operating time each day particularly if the Vet Surgeon was to be on a later finish with evening consultations. Client calls, telephone consultations and of course reporting on any in patient cases they are responsible for.

Accommodation can be provided, and relocation package available for the successful applicant. Welcome bonus of £20K!

Salary up to £80K DOE plus benefits.


About Us

We are a busy first opinion practice in Dewsbury that offer all routine surgery plus some more advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures. We have a fully equipped operating room with ultrasonic instrument cleaning and vacuum sterilisers separated from non-clean procedure areas, including a separate diagnostic x-ray/ultrasound room.

In house blood testing, using the latest Idexx analysers and also Sedivue analyser for urine sediment analysis. Facilities to offer blood pressure testing, cryosurgery, and we have a fully integrated dental machine.

Dewsbury is in a great central location in the fabulous county of Yorkshire, with many great locations close by including beautiful countryside and buzzing city locations.

We have a culture of consideration and kindness in the practice toward the patients and staff members. Our main aim with patients is always to provide the highest-level clinical care, regardless of whether the client is insured or has less to spend.


Applicant Requirements

We look forward to welcoming an enthusiastic RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon join our team. We could accommodate a first opinion General Practitioner looking to gain further experience and we would be happy to offer support if needed for performing surgery and handling medicine cases. A most important attribute would be the ability to get on well with the team and with our valued clients.
