CatSci Ltd, based in Cardiff, UK, is an innovation partner to the chemical research, development and manufacturing industries, specialising in process research and development for manufacturing drug substance and other high value materials. CatSci Ltd has extensive knowledge and expertise in a wide range of chemistry from discovery support through to full scale manufacturing and life-cycle management.

We seek to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated scientist with proven intellectual and technical abilities to work on homogeneous catalysis projects.

Your Impact as Catalysis Expert

  • You will be responsible for the design, execution, analysis, documentation and interpretation of screenings and optimisations to fast deliver optimal and scalable solutions for chemical transformation, including catalytic reactions.
  • This position requires laboratory experimentation, participation on API project team and work in collaboration with scientists from Analytical vertical and other disciplines to further develop synthetic routes into synthetic processes.
  • You will foster and strengthen our capabilities by maintaining a state-of-the-art laboratory, implementing relevant and innovative technologies and optimizing workflows.

Requirements for Catalysis Expert

  • A PhD in chemistry with a significant experience in the industry
  • Extensive experience in homogenous catalysis
  • Detailed understanding of organic synthesis, scale-up and process chemistry
  • Expertise in the use of practical synthetic chemistry techniques
  • The ability to employ analytical tools, computational and statistical methodology, and automated laboratory technologies to enhance process development efficiency is desirable
  • Natural leadership ability is desirable, although previous line management experience is not required
