* Operational Manager* CARDIFF, Start date ASAP – 6 months, p/day inside IR35

Reporting to the Clinical Board Director, the Director of Operations will be responsible for the provision of strategic leadership to ensure the effective and efficient management
You will have leadership responsibility for the operational management of the Clinical Board, ensuring the effective implementation of national, regional and local strategies as well as a focus on transformation and delivery of recovery plans
Current or recent experience of the management of patient flow in the Unscheduled care streams in Medicine/EU is essential.
You will need unambiguous accountability to ensure effective operational management of all available resources; delivery of efficient services within budget (Income and Expenditure) within the scope of the Clinical Board;
responsibility and accountability for the provision of high quality safe services, excellence in education and world class research
Specific Responsibilities
Strategic Approach:
Develop, implement and maintain:
* An effective clinical governance pla.stakeholders.
A continuity programmme which seeks to improve and develop the services provided by the clinical Board, and work in collaboration with other Clinical Boards and key stakeholders to ensure services are co-coordinated on a whole system basis.
Risk and Clinical Governance
Develop, implement and maintain an effective Clinical Governance system.
This will include:
oAdvocating positive attitudes and values in accordance with the agreed values and behaviours and about the safety and quality of services;
oEstablishing proper governance structures for safety and quality;
oOrganizing and using data to underpin evidence-based best practice;
oSponsoring a people focused care system.
Take personal accountability for all safety and quality issues. This will include the effective implementation of the UHB safety and quality policy and guidelines as adopted/recommended by the Welsh Government.
Develop, implement and maintain an effective patient/client engagement system which ensures that the local population are listened to and their views/feedback is used to improved the way care is delivered.
