The Role

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to provide maternity cover 2-4 days a week and ideally 2 Saturday mornings (4 hours each) per month on a fixed-term contract starting in March 2022, with the possibility of an extension thereafter. No OOH or bank holiday work. You will be working as part of a team with some sole charge branch work. The role will be largely consultation-based with cases worked-up as required. Surgical work will also feature depending on the candidate’s experience and interest in this area. For the right candidate, there can be flexibility around working hours, working days, and the content of the role.

Salary

Salary of up to £45,000 per annum depending on experience.

About the Team and Culture

You will be working with 6 other Veterinary Surgeons including 1 certificate holder & another vet completing their certificate in 2022. 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses, including 4 certificate holders and 1 Student Nurse. There is a team of highly experienced Receptionists, a Finance Manager and a Practice Manager to offer further support. The Clinical Director performs many orthopaedic procedures and is keen to share the expertise with any who are interested. We have a high profile in the community & like to support local events. We have embedded a supportive, encouraging and open communication ethos in practice ensuring that everybody feels a part of the family.

Applicant Requirements

We are seeking a colleague with some post-qualification experience who is RCVS registered. We require you to have an excellent bedside manner, be an avid team player and have a positive can-do attitude towards tasks.
