Protocol are currently recruiting with a long-standing provider of education for a temporary Learning Coach in South West London.
Having been around for over 100 years, this client has a wealth of experience and a strong reputation behind it. Recently merged with local institutes to form a successful college group, they have recently been graded by Ofsted as GOOD in June 2016.
Job Purpose/Overview:
To support and mentor learners with social, emotional and mental health needs, a disability, learning difficulty or medical condition; and or with ESOL, English and Maths support needs to enable them to successfully complete their qualifications, course and where appropriate, education, health and care plan (EHCP) outcomes.
The person & qualifications
Experience of working with young people 14-19 years of age from a variety of backgrounds and an understanding of the needs and issues surrounding them and the difficulties students face
Able to take guidance and direction from Support managers and academic staff
Able to use initiative, organise and prioritise
Able to communicate effectively at all levels
Administrative skills sufficient to keep high quality written records of learner progress and set appropriate smart targets based on EHCP outcomes, Agreed support plan and coursework.
