Creative Support is a non-profit organisation which provides high quality person-centred social care services for people with learning disabilities, mental health and other needs.
We have an exciting volunteer opportunity available for an Activity Support Worker to initiate, plan and provide enjoyable and stimulating group activities based on the assessed needs, interests and preferences of people living in our Support Living Services across Stockport. You will facilitate social inclusion and community links to promote physical and mental wellbeing, confidence and independence.
You will have good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to facilitate and work with people in groups. Experience of working with people with learning disabilities, autism and physical disabilities would be an advantage.
The role will be based at our Head Office, in Stockport town centre, with some opportunity to travel to our supported living houses across the Stockport area. You will need to work a minimum of 16 hours per week, and be available on Tuesdays until 9pm. You will coordinate, plan and deliver meaningful activities such as social groups and discos. You will work in coordination with the managers, seniors and support workers to create an attendance list, source appropriate supplies and organise travel to and from the venue.
We are looking for enthusiastic, resourceful and energetic individuals who are well motivated, hardworking and keen to join our friendly team. You will demonstrate the values that are essential for a role of this nature such as warmth, compassion and positivity along with the ability to work flexibly (this role may include working evenings and weekends).
