The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to come join our team. The role consists of a 4 day week working shifts between 8.30am-6.30pm Monday-Friday plus a 1 in 8 Saturday morning shift 9am-12pm. We also have the added benefit of no OOH or Bank Holidays as these are covered by our Emergency care provider VetsNow. Salary range £38,000 to £44,000 dependent on experience.

About Us

We are a well-established 100% Small Animal practice and form part of a group of 10 Veterinary Surgeries across South Wales. Our facilities include ultrasound scanner, a well-equipped in-house laboratory, multi parameter, tonopen, digital x-ray and dental x-ray. We also have access to K-Lazer and endoscopes at our main surgery in Newport.

We have a dedicated Senior Clinical Team who meet monthly to discuss clinical cases. We are based in the beautiful welsh town of Blackwood, Caerphilly. We are close to all local amenities with the town centre just 5mins walk away and we are just a 30 mins drive away from both Newport and Cardiff city centres.

Our team is made up of 4 veterinary surgeons who have the support of an experienced team of support staff consisting of 4 RVN’s, 3 SVN’s and 3 receptionists. We already have a number of certificate holders within our group which enables us to offer a good support network. We strongly encourage and support CPD for all our staff members. Due to the varied caseload of medical and surgical cases at our Blackwood branch we feel it would be an opportunity to potentially complete a medical or surgical certificate.
