Unified Communications Specialist

As a key member of a small team of specialists, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of our Unified Communications solutions. This will include liaising with third parties to ensure future deployments are a success as well as management of issues to resolution. The Unified Communications team are part of Technology Operations, whose main purpose is to ensure all services are available and operating effectively. This means close collaboration with all teams within Technology Operations, as well as facilities for delivery of projects. Other responsibilities will include administration and support of our contact centre and audio-visual solutions.

The role requires excellent customer service, organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities of the Job:

The role is a hands-on technical role, with responsibility to provide support for all aspects of our Unified Communications solutions. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • To ensure all telephony services and audio-visual hardware remains operational and available.
  • Provide a high level of customer services to the end user, with focus on SLAs to ensure prompt incident resolution.
  • Manage and troubleshoot issues to resolution, liaising with third parties and ensuring end user is kept up to date.
  • Administration and support of our contact centre, telephony, audio conferencing and visual solutions.
  • Manage and maintain the relationship with suppliers, including regular service review meetings and continual improvement
  • Manage projects and contribute to multi-functional location-based projects.
  • Ensure documentation is keep current, clear and precise.
  • Service Reporting to the Unified Communications Manager and other stakeholders as required.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with other areas of the business and external third parties (Service Providers & Suppliers).
  • Providing out of hours support for service impacting maintenance.
  • Requirements of the Job:

    People Management Responsibilities:

    This role does not have any immediate direct reports, however, will be required to manage teams consisting of members from other SJP departments and third parties on projects and service improvements.

      Job Knowledge:  

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Experience of administrating and supporting applications
  • Enthusiasm and interest in technologies
  • Basic understanding of networking principles
  • Work planning and scheduling techniques 
  • Business Expertise:

    All of the applications and services SJP utilize in order to support Clients, Partners and Employees touch our network. Whether in office, out of office, desktop or mobile, end to end connectivity and functionality must be comprehensively understood. 

    Understanding of the Financial Services sector and the use of these solutions within it. Proven track record in support and projects. 

    Strong interpersonal skills are required to ensure collaboration with other teams within Technology Operations and presenting a professional, creative and can-do attitude when working on projects with business functions. 

    Nature and Scope of Impact:

    Stability and continuity of IT Service is critical to the SJP Business model, this role is integral to ensure we deliver a high level of customer support for all users of our services.

      Interpersonal Skills:

    Understanding context is essential and a you must demonstrate a high level of skill when interpreting information to different audiences to not leave them feeling baffled or frustrated. You must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. These activities will range from incident resolution with a technical team of an IT service provider, the business owner of an application or an SJP Senior Exec. 

    Special Requirements:

    There will be a requirement for UK and potentially international travel. You must also be prepared for some out of office hours work as well as overnight stays.
