We have an opportunity for a  permanent Underwriting Assistant  to join our  Liability department.  You will report into the Departmental Manager and will be responsible ensuring that the Liability department have the necessary underwriter support to allow for efficient broker and business servicing and assist the Managers and Underwriters to carry out all tasks relating to the underwriting and reinsurance of the Department in order to provide appropriate customer focused products and maximize profitability, always bearing in mind the relationship between risk and return in respect of all underwriting activities.

This role includes responsibilities such as assisting in the underwriting in accordance with the department manager’s instructions in respect of premiums, terms and conditions which are set in order to secure the planned underwriting profits in accordance with the Department’s agreed Business Plans, assisting with ensuring all of Tokio Marine Kiln insurance operations meet PRA, FCA and regulator requirements and that they are conducted with integrity and ensuring that conflicts of interest are identified and managed.

The successful candidate will have general office administration experience (in a related business if possible) and knowledge of the insurance market is advantageous but not imperative. The successful candidate will be a team player, have good attention to detail and take ownership when required.
