Trainee IOT Support Consultant

Are you computer savvy and looking to start progressing your career forward within an IT position? If so, we have a rare development opportunity for a Trainee IoT Support Consultant to join us!

As an IoT/PRISM Support Consultant, we will help develop your early IT career in IoT/PRISM, where you will be working on Ovarro’s Scope X which is our control and management system that is connected to all our sensors and connectors across our regional sites throughout the Wessex Water region.

The role

Your role will be to operate Ovarro’s Scope/PRISM applications in accordance with best-practice, standards and internal conventions and processes. This includes being responsible for mimic amendments, creation and maintenance. Your responsibility is to develop the support capabilities in this area.

Working with your fellow IoT Support Consultants to ensure project deadlines and high-quality deliverables are met, while also being flexible with project demands.

What do I need?

We are looking for a customer focused individual who has a good understanding of complex concepts and is able to keep up in a fast-paced environment working unsupervised. To be successful, you will have excellent organisational and be an effective communicator.

In addition, we are looking for:

  • intermediate level Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Problem solving skills – taking a logical evidence-based approach
  • the ability to learn and apply knowledge to make decisions
  • the ability to derive information from documentation
  • a high attention to detail and the ability to focus
  • an awareness that changes made may have significant impact throughout complex systems
  • the ability to challenge requirements.
  • an awareness to possible undesirable side-effects.
  • It would be helpful, but certainly isn’t essential, if you have the following knowledge and experience:

  • educated to degree level or experience of application support or operational technology in an enterprise environment
  • experience with generic design tools (eg, Visio/Photoshop/Publisher)
  • understanding of Networking, Telemetry and SCADA Systems
  • database experience
  • server administration
  • background knowledge of electronics concepts.
