Sefton’s Leaving Care Service is growing

We are looking for a dynamic team manager to help lead our leaving care service in our mission to improve outcomes for young people and care leavers in Sefton. 

Here at Sefton Children’s Services, we want to ensure that robust, effective transition and planning for adulthood and independence begins at an earlier stage and our aspiration is to work with all future care leavers from the age of 16 onwards. We are therefore creating an additional Leaving Care Team to allow us to further enhance and strengthen the support we offer to care leavers and young people who are preparing for independence. 

The successful candidate will have management responsibility for a team of committed Personal Advisors and will be expected to provide robust, reflective supervision in line with Sefton’s supervision policy. As Team Manager, you must be able to demonstrate your understanding of the issues relevant to supporting care leavers, including Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children, as well as a good working knowledge of safeguarding procedures, legislation and effective practice in this area. 

Applicants should have proven management experience or be ready to demonstrate that they are able to step up to this role. Please note that in order to apply for this post you must be qualified and registered as a Social Worker with SWE and have post qualifying experience in safeguarding children.
