Due to expansion, we have exciting opportunities for 4 Team Leaders to join and lead our friendly Black Country Helpline team. Your role will be a fixed term position until 31st March 2022, working full time, 35 hours per week based in either Dudley or Wolverhampton.

Our Black Country Helpline is a freephone service for those in need of support, reassurance and understanding. This telephone-based service is open 24 hours, 365 days and no referral is required for anyone experiencing emotional distress, Carers, friends or family who require support about someone they know.

What will you be doing?

  • Overseeing the GP referral service staff
  • Responsibility for the delivery of the Black Country Emotional Support Helpline, GP referral & Dudley Carers with direct support from the Service manager.
  • Working closely with Clinical staff from the NHS.
  • Responsibility for operational leadership of the Black Country Emotional Support Helpline, GP referral & Dudley Carers team.
  • Ensuring staff offer sensitive support and signposting appropriate to the individual’s needs.
  • Supporting staff with difficult calls.
  • Do you have what we are looking for?

  • Experience of working with people with mental health problems or a similar service user group within health, social services or the voluntary sector
  • Experience of partnership working, negotiation and liaison work with other agencies
  • Experience of staff supervision and coaching
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, tailored to a variety of audiences
  • Experience of working with people with mental health problems or a similar service user group within health, social services or the voluntary sector
