About the role
We have a new opportunity to join us as a Support Worker – Triage on a full time and permanent basis. You will be a part of the Gloucestershire Domestic Abuse Support Service which, in addition to support services, operates a Help Desk and manages Places of Safety properties. The team is part of the organisation-wide Supported Housing service.
You will operate the Triage system, assessing support needs of service users and identifying appropriate support pathways. As Support Worker, it is your duty to assess risk and offer immediate safety and support advice before service users are referred for ongoing support.
You will give practical, emotional, and housing related support to people at risk of domestic abuse and work effectively with the wider staff team, other professionals such as social care and service users, carrying out support tasks as directed.
You will also help facilitate groups and other activities that are in the common interest of this client group, including help to develop community links.

You must have a good standard of General Education and the ability to use email, Microsoft Office and other relevant IT systems
You should have experience of working with victims of domestic abuse and experience of working directly with customers in a challenging or potentially challenging environment. Knowledge and practical experience of conducting risk assessments in domestic abuse and creating safety plans is essential.
