Working as part of a small closely knit team, you will be supporting a variety of individuals with support within their home and out in the community.
Due to the nature of this service we are looking for female only applicants. This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1. In addition, applications are sought from individuals with a full, clean driving licence only.
Working across a range a outreach services mainly in Penzance with the opportunity to work across other areas if needed. The majority of your support time will be working 1:1 with a lady who loves going for walks, swimming, and doing various arts and crafts. The individual is sometimes supported within her home but most of the support will be doing activities out in the community. Being quite an affectionate individual, you as her Support Worker will need to be sensitive. The person that we support will sometimes require physical re-assurances and it is essential that you are able to clearly establish appropriate boundaries. The successful person for this role will be somebody who will challenge as necessary and be an advocate for the person they support.
Alongside supporting this lady there are various others we support in Penzance to access the community, providing social support. This is a mixture of male and females and will also be on a 1:1 support basis.
You will be joining us on a 30 hours per week permanent contract with the potential to work additional hours if willing. As we provide 24 hours support, it is important that you can be flexible and are willing to work shifts on a rota basis including weekends and bank holidays.
If you have prior experience within a care environment that would be great, however we will provide fantastic training for the right type of person. Driving is essential for this role and you must have access to your own vehicle.
