We have some fantastic Support Worker opportunities to join our teams in Easingwold. We have a variety of contracts including Relief, Part Time or Full Time positions available (up to 37.5 hours per week) depending on which service you are matched to.
Do you love to be beside the seaside? Is snuggling down and watching a film your idea of a good night in? If you answer yes to either of these questions, then you’re just who we’re looking for to support at one of our registered services. We are looking to grow our team of dedicated, caring and enthusiastic support workers to enable the six individuals we support to live the lives they choose to live.
If you’re looking to support someone who is activity mad then maybe you’ll be best suited to our 1:1 support service where you’ll be supporting a young man with a different activity every week! Whether it’s football, swimming or even making the most of his National Trust tickets, this individual has endless energy and a real passion for fun – the Support Worker we’re looking for will need to match this passion, or better yet, top it!
If you’re looking for the chance to support individuals with the life skills they need to live independently, then we have a service for you too. Supporting our lovely ladies in their home, you will be with them all the way while they go about their day; you’ll be their helping hand in the kitchen, you’ll make sure you hold the door open on the way for a coffee – and most importantly make sure they remember the milk at the shop! This service is perfect for someone who wants the chance to see how much small acts can mean to someone wanting to live as independently as possible.
As a Support Worker with Mencap, we understand that flexibility is key for both yourself and for the service. While we do require flexibility with shifts throughout the day depending on the service you match with, we understand you have a life outside of work too. Things come up that you need to work around, and we will do our very best to ensure our rotas are done to allow for that trip to the dentist.
As each service is different, so too are the requirements and shift patterns. As a general guide; day shifts will cover from 8am – 9pm, usually split into 2 shifts. Certain services will also have sleep in shifts or Waking Night shifts as well. Some of the people we support only require verbal prompts for Personal Care while some may need more hands on support – full training and shadowing will be provided for each service.
