Discovery are committed to making a positive difference to people with learning disabilities and/or autism in Somerset, and are now recruiting for passionate and caring individuals to join our fantastic team as a Support Worker in Yeovil.
Being a Support Worker is an incredibly varied role, where you will be supporting someone on a one to one basis both in their home and out and about in the town. This is a great opportunity to make a difference to a person we support's life, promoting independence and healthy living wherever possible by empowering individuals to do as much for themselves as they can, whether that be cooking or cleaning their own food and homes, going out shopping or meeting with friends and family.
No two days are the same and there isn't a 'one size fits all' background that makes a great Support Worker. We don't need you to have any experience as we can give you all the training and support you need to succeed, and are lucky to have excellent colleagues working with us who have joined us from many backgrounds including retail, hospitality, marketing and administration.
So if you'd like to take on a role where you can make a difference every day, please consider joining us today!
Why join us?
- Full-time or part-time permanent contracts available
- 9.36 per hour
- 30 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
- Supported ‘Learn to Drive’ scheme (up to 30 driving lessons, 1 theory/practical test – all paid for by us)
- A 24 Hour Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family members.
- Long Service Awards, Life Assurance and Pension scheme
- Great Induction and training opportunities including the Care Certificate, and Diploma in Health & Social Care.
- Discovery is proud to be one of the very few social care organisations that are members of the Great Places To Work programme 2021.
