About the role:
The people we support at this service in Crewkerne are looking for a fun, enthusiastic and conscientious Support Worker to join their support team. Seven ladies and gentlemen between 30 and 85 years old, all live in this supported living home in the centre of Crewkerne.
A typical day for a person we support at this service can be varied. We love to spend time in the beautiful garden or have lunch together in the Summer House cafe which is in the garden if it is a nice sunny day. Other days, we like to bake cakes and be supported to make our lunch and dinner. We love to listen to music and participate in guitar and singing afternoons, or have a cinema film evening! We also like to attend virtual Church sessions on a Sunday or go out to meet with local friendship groups when we can. In particular, we all enjoy going out with family and meeting friends in Crewkerne and also enjoy going for walks to local beauty spots or just popping into the local town for a coffee and cake in the morning.
As a Support Worker for Discovery, you will be supporting each person with many different aspects of their life such as helping them to maintain important relationships, supporting with personal care, finances and their eating and drinking needs.
