Due to growth through additional wins we have opportunities in Scotland for Supervisors who excel at motivating and managing people.

We are innovative

That’s why we need people like you to help us. People who enjoy finding new ways to solve problems and get things done.

What you’ll be doing

The main emphasis will be on people and performance management and we know that you’ll want to seek out improvements, in work practices and service performance once you’ve settled into the role.

As a talented manager who thrives on change and challenge across (1) Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Fleet (2) Operational delivery and (3) Customer Experience, here are some of the activities you could be involved in:

  • Leading and inspiring your operational teams to deliver safely
  • Ensuring your teams have the appropriate training to be competent and compliant
  • Minimising customer complaints by encouraging a “right first time” culture
  • Proactive management of future works and programmes to minimise disruption and failure due to preventable mistakes
  • Approving and reviewing contractor method statements and risk assessments
  • Undertaking regular safety audits / audits of work activity; identifying safety hazards and ensuring controls are implemented
  • Managing vehicles and drivers to comply with our driving standards policy and highway code
  • We’d love to hear from you if you can demonstrate …

Excellent people management and delivery skills backed up with exceptional communications skills. Commercial awareness, diplomacy and independent decision-making are key, as you will frequently find yourself balancing client expectations with contractual requirements and business needs.

It’s highly likely that you will have gained credibility in a similar role and sector and gained a health and safety qualification such as IOSH.

A NRSWA qualification, SMSTS and CDM training are all highly desirable.

We are also open to receiving applications from operational team leaders looking to take on their first management role, candidates exiting the forces, or recent graduates with a relevant degree, such as civil engineering.
