An exciting new post has become available in The London Borough of Havering Community Learning Disability Health Team (HCLDT) to work within the Integrated Health and Social Care Team for Adults with Learning Disabilities (ALD). This is currently a co-Located team consisting of Health and Social care disciplines.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with LD specialists consisting of SLT, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Art therapist, Psychologists, Behavioural specialists, Psychiatrists and Social workers.

The case load is comprised of individuals with mild to severe Learning Disabilities requiring input to support their communication, behavioural, social and dysphagia / swallowing needs.

We are looking for someone who is motivated with good communication and interpersonal skills to work within an ethnically and culturally diverse population of clients.

We are seeking to recruit someone who enjoys a challenge and is able to work as part of a large team, whilst being able to work under their own initiative

Previous experience of working within Learning Disabilities and Dysphagia is essential.

****Due to the hard to recruit nature of this post, it has been identified by NELFT as being eligible for a welcome payment for all new starters to the Trust subject to the terms set out within the NELFT Recruitment Policy. This post also attracts a one off payment equivalent to 10% of annual basic salary. This would be payable as 50% of the incentive as a lump sum at end of the probationary period (Typically six months) and then the other 50% of the incentive as a lump sum at the end of year two****

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Assessment/Interview info

At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. If you are shortlisted, invited for interview and successfully offered the post, you will be required to undertake an assessment for these skills during the pre-employment checks.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement – London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £3,784 to a maximum of £4,822)
