Tideway are looking for a Senior Scheduler to join their Project Controls team. This role will be responsible for managing the schedules submitted by the main works contractor (MWC) for three construction sites on the Thames Tideway project. This will incorporate all typical requirements of assessing programmes under an NEC3 Option C contract.
This role will also be responsible for the development, management and maintenance of the Project Managers construction programmes through analysis of the MWC programmes
The role will be an integral part of the project team and will require liaison with the risk and change management team. Knowledge and experience of producing schedule risk analysis will be required.
The Scheduler will be required to contribute to the weekly and monthly progress reports as well as ad hoc reports as and when required.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and take ownership of robust and coherent, resource and cost loaded construction programmes in conjunction with the construction delivery teams. Ensure that project schedules reflect the correct scope of work Meet agreed workplan dates and objectives. Facilitate construction programmes as core control tools for the Thames Tideway project. Timely and accurate monthly updates. Timely and accurate weekly updates Review and advise on schedule risk and mitigation measures for delay recovery on critical activities Review and comment on contractors’/suppliers’ programme submissions in line with requirements as set out in the NEC3 Form of Contract. Review and advise on claims for extension of time. Analyse project schedule and advise Project Manager of progress against schedule Implement project control procedures in conjunction with Programme Controls and Project Teams Provide base information for the 90 day look-ahead (monthly) and any other ad-hoc schedule exercises. Utilise quality techniques and tools within project management and business processes Provide support to all teams, to resolve any audit non-conformities that may arise Develop user-friendly means of communicating the schedule to the wider team Promote Project WBS as the primary means of cross-discipline coding & linking. Recognise areas for improvement and communicate them to senior management to ensure continual improvement Evaluate and consider HSSE and CDM (Construction, Design and Management) by the virtue of robust preparation, planning and execution of works Take reasonable care of your own and others for HSSE, by focusing on the potential outcomes of your actions Demonstrable knowledge and experience in using Primavera P6 which is the main planning tool for the project.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Essential: EU resident or eligibility to work in the EU Significant construction experience on major multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. Expert planning and scheduling knowledge Experience of Primavera P6 , including resource and cost loading, generating Earned Value reports as well as graphic and tabular progress reports. Good working knowledge of MS Excel: Table (Vlookup, Filtering, Data manipulation & summarisation) and Excel Functions.General computer literacy in MS Office and MS Project. Good report writing and presentation skills – accurate and concise Ability to develop programmes from first principles as well as critical interrogation of suppliers’ programmes. Proven planning & scheduling thinking and approach (Not a P6 Admin)
Desirable: Degree qualified in Civil/Building Engineering or construction related discipline Knowledge in Construction Management Experience in tunnelling methods Good understanding of design process Knowledge of NEC3 and its application to the programme Knowledge of CDM and its impact on the programme
