We have an opening for an outstanding Senior Operations Manager in Landscape Construction.  Working within our highly successful Construction division, you’ll be part of the senior leadership and will be responsible for leading your team in demonstrating Ground Control Values in all that they do as well as delivering our ambitious 5-year business plan.

What you’ll achieve;

  • Operations
  • The main focus of your role is to lead a specialist team of Construction Managers to ensure we deliver an exceptional service for our clients. In addition to operational managers, you will assist the wider business support functions when they work within your function.

    You will also be required to actively support your wider Construction SLT counterparts. To enable your annual budget expectations to be met, each Construction Manager is charged with delivering revenues in excess of £1.2m p.a., importantly delivering a minimum £220k gross level contribution.

    As part of your role, you will lead and inspire the Construction team to acquire and deliver new additional business through extra works, expanding existing contracts and acquiring new clients.

    You will actively champion a positive Health and Safety culture within the business, supporting your management team and Field Teams ensuring compliance.

  • Recruitment and development of A Players is critical to the success of our organisation, in turn ensuring we have suitable skills to support succession planning.

    You will be responsible for setting aligned goals and targets for your team and to monitor and manage individual and team performance through key performance indicators. Becoming an influential leader is important to enable your colleagues to benefit from your wealth of knowledge and experience when you regularly meet to discuss goals and objectives.

    It’s critically important to foster strong relationships within your team by building trust, developing individual and team capabilities, demonstrating a collaborative approach to situations and at all times inspiring your team to push for excellence. You will support your team through regular 1:1 discussions, ensuring their individual development needs are agreed and followed through when conducting their annual appraisals.

    Who are we looking for?

    This is a national role so you could be based anywhere in the country. You will have regular travel nationally as well as plenty of time spent working from home when you are not required on site or in meetings. The level of travel is dependent on the current live projects.

    We are looking for an experienced Senior Construction or Operations Manager ideally with previous Landscaping experience however we would also consider applications from Operations Manager with strong management experience within facilities management or the utilities sectors. Hard landscaping would also be an advantage. Whatever your background you’ll be used to managing and delivering multidisciplinary projects on time and to budget.

    You’ll need extensive contract and project management experience coupled with strong leadership skills that can motivate the team across a whole region. You’ll be a great team manager but you will also need a head for detail and be commercially astute in order to drive this part of our business forward.

    Overall you will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to deliver outstanding customer service, take personal and visible action to help, support or lead, rolling up your sleeves as required!
