Do you want to make a difference helping students and researchers fulfil their ambitions? You will play a key role in raising significant philanthropic income from a portfolio of UK and International donors and prospects to increase our student scholarships and research opportunities.
We have an exciting position based within the University’s Individual Philanthropy team and we are seeking a highly ambitious and experienced Senior Development Manager to cultivate excellent relationships with the Individuals who can help us reach our ambitious goals.
The University of Bath is a nationally and internationally leading University placed in the top 10 rankings of three major national league tables. The Department of Development & Alumni Relations (DDAR) plays a leading role in the University’s excellence through philanthropic support and partnerships.
As a key member of the Major Gifts team, you will manage a pool of 80 – 100 major donors and prospects capable of supporting the University with five, six and seven figure gifts for areas from student scholarships to philanthropic research.
Your background is likely to be in higher education or the not-for-profit sectors, ideally with experience of international markets (Asia, Middle East & North America) and you must be able to work well under pressure in a complex, multi-national and culturally diverse environment.
As a Senior Development Manager, you will have demonstrable success in storytelling, relationship management and raising significant philanthropic gifts. Confident and credible you will have knowledge and understanding of how to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major prospects in the UK and/or internationally.
You will act as the departmental link with the International Relations Office and other University teams working overseas, you will work collaboratively with those colleagues as well as the senior management team and other offices to maximise gift potential from prospects who may have multiple associations and interests.
During the current period, you will be expected to work from home for which equipment will be provided to support you in your role. In time, once normal service resumes, it will be a blended role; UK and International travel will be required as well as a presence on campus.
