The BCUHB Adult Learning Disability Clinical Psychology Department is seeking to employ a Clinical Psychologist (Band 8a, 0.8 WTE, 30 hours per week) to work within the Wrexham Community Learning Disability Team. The Adult LD Clinical Psychology Department is well respected, valued and fully integrated within wider LD Services. As such, the post holder will be a core member of the Community Team, providing direct clinical input with clients, and specialist psychological knowledge and expertise to team colleagues. Knowledge of PBS/Behaviour Analysis, DBT, Autism Spectrum Conditions and risk assessment would be desirable, however, training/development opportunities will be available to the successful applicant if necessary.

The LD Clinical Psychology Department is a very friendly and supportive environment in which supervision and continued professional development are highly valued, as is peer support and peer supervision. The Department has close links with the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme, particularly in the provision of Trainee placements, input into the teaching curriculum and the supervision of research projects. Involvement in research and clinical audit is strongly encouraged and complements our activities in clinical leadership and service development. These activities are highly valued both within the Department and more widely within LD Services, and as such the post offers a real opportunity to contribute to the development of LD services across North Wales.

Previous experience working within Learning Disability post qualification would be desirable, however, we would be keen to hear from applicants whose post qualification experience has involved working with other client groups.

It will be necessary for the successful applicant to deliver services from a range of community and service based environments across Wrexham and the wider BCUHB area. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
