Semi-Skilled Reservoir Repair Operative

Are you an experienced, semi-skilled operative with a knowledge and understanding of the water industry? If so, we have a great opportunity for you in our Reservoir Repair team as a Semi-Skilled Reservoir Repair Operative!

We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude who is confident, driven, and self-motivated. You will work towards becoming an experienced backup to our Team Leader.

This is a site based role throughout the Wessex Water region.

What will you be doing?
As a semi-skilled operative, you will have the day-to-day responsibility of working within a multi-disciplined team of around five people, across the Wessex Water region. This work will involve minor civil engineering solutions, including mechanical works, excavation, concreting and reservoir refurbishment.

Your responsibilities will include site setup and ensuring safe working practices during site activities, while also supporting the Team Leader. You will need to be environmentally aware and have a good understanding of what we can and cannot do in environmentally sensitive locations.

What are the requirements?
To succeed in the role, you should have strong experience within civil engineering. A flexible approach to work and willingness to learn to progress your personal development will also be beneficial.

It is preferred that you’re trained in the safe use of dumper trucks/360 excavators up to 10 tons. You should also be able to use small plant and tools, in addition to being confined space safety trained, however relevant training will be provided.

You will need proven mechanical pipework and minor civil experience. You will be responsible for ensuring you and other team members adhere to all health and safety requirements, therefore a good working knowledge of health and safety legislation is required.
