This apprenticeship consists of an 18-month long opportunity to build on your organisational and communication skills and apply your ‘can-do’ attitude whilst working towards an Public Relations and Communications Assistant Level 4 qualification. 

The Job:

Working with our Resident Involvement Team for the Council you will:

  • To help create strong collaborations and partnerships with community stakeholders in order to further the delivery of the Council priority of working with residents and building capacity within communities across the borough.
  • To assist with the effective delivery of support to Tenants & Residents Associations (TRAs) to manage their community halls and rooms.
  • To assist with the aim of maximising income to the Housing Revenue Account (HRA), while supporting third sector organisations to find affordable work spaces and the community to have cost effective spaces to hire.
  • Maintain and update records and support teams with data entry and numerical data.
  • Develop professional relationships with your own team and with others who we work alongside and provide services to.
  • Build on your existing communication skills, gain invaluable experience and build your self-confidence through your day-to-day workplace activities.

    Training and Development:

    Within your role you will:

  • Complete an Public Relations and Communications Assistant Level 4 qualification which is fully funded by the Council. This will involve attendance at a college and/or completing tasks in the workplace (depending on specific course requirement)
  • Join a personal and professional development programme that will involve a series of varied development activities and events throughout your time with the Council

    Moving On:

    After you have successfully completed your Apprenticeship you will have gained valuable workplace experience and attained a professional qualification which will improve your chances of finding work either within the Council or with another employer or help you move on to a higher level apprenticeship elsewhere. 

    You will have networked across the Council and be aware of the internal job market during your time with us and we will provide support on your approach to the wider job market as part of your development programme. 

    To apply for this Apprenticeship, you must:

  • Be a 16+ Hammersmith and Fulham resident or Hammersmith & Fulham care leaver. We encourage applications aged 16-24 however, applicants of all ages will be considered .
  • Not currently be qualified in Public Relations and Communications Assistant at Level 4 or above.

You should use your previous experiences at school, college, work or in your personal life to give detailed and relevant examples when asked.
