We are looking to recruit to 2 Rehousing Officer posts in the Rehousing service, comprising 2 temporary full time vacancies. The posts will be until 31 March 2022.

As a Rehousing Officer you will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality service which supports customers through the rehousing process.

We are looking for applicants with a positive approach, can do attitude and can provide a high quality, continually improving and customer driven service.

The Rehousing Officer role provides operational and support functions in the Rehousing Service, in order to provide efficient and effective customer, administrative and financial services to external and internal customers and partners of the Council Housing Service.

You will need to have or quickly gain a strong understanding of Rehousing Allocations Policy and procedures to enable you to complete accurate casework, apply the relevant legislation, and make recommendations for discretionary decisions. You will need to also have, or quickly gain an understanding of Sheffield City Council’s Housing register and how social housing is allocated. You will be part of a very busy operational service and will be required to work flexibly to accommodate the requirements of the service which will include, on a rota basis, late evening cover. 

The posts also involve multi agency working with other teams within the Council or other agencies to support vulnerable customers.
