The Role

Bishops Vets in Hatfield, Herts are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our welcoming and supportive team. We are a small, close team that prides ourselves on providing excellent nursing care to patients and clients. The role includes typical general practice duties, including theatre, assisting with procedures, general nursing care, nurse consults, dispensary, and some administration and reception duties. We pride ourselves on providing a good work life balance with a 40 hour week, Saturday mornings on a rota basis with time off in lieu and no on call. This is a full time position however part time applications are also encouraged as we are open to flexible working and to job sharing.

About Us

We are a well-equipped single site practice with digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental x-ray, separate dog and cat wards and a dedicated nurse consulting room. Our team of part and full time staff is comprised of 3 vets, 3 RVNs and 4 reception/administrative staff. We are a Training Practice and also have an SVN starting with us soon. One of our vets has a special interest in exotics, so you can expect to work with some interesting species at times! We are located in Hatfield, Hertfordshire which has swift mainline train links to London and is conveniently placed for both the A1(M) and the M25. Our ethos is to provide great clinical care to our patients while also encompassing empathetic and personalised care to our clients in a friendly and fun working environment.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for a qualified nurse and experience is a plus but new graduates and soon to be graduates are also welcome to apply. Being a Training Practice, our existing lovely and experienced nurses are used to providing a supportive work environment to allow newly qualified nurses to grow in confidence and ability, which we believe is vital to develop the fulfilled and content RVNs of our future. A new grad applicant would also be able to benefit from joining the IVC Nurse Academy, which is a 12 month programme that includes structured CPD and a dedicated Academy Coach for support.
