Reception Supervisor, Holiday Inn Wembley

A Reception Supervisor, must oversee the running of a shift and ensure that the reception team are managing their task lists accordingly. A Reception Supervisor will be responsible for supporting their line manager within the departments of food and beverage, housekeeping and reception; being flexible within their role supporting any department in line with business demands.

    Following a £2 million renovation in 2018, Holiday Inn Wembley unveiled their stylish Open Lobby, offering the perfect place for guests to relax with colleagues, friends and family. The open plan space introduced; an all-day dining menu, 24/7 coffee shop, free WiFi and board games.

    As well as the Open Lobby, the Wembley hotel has a selection of comfortable guest rooms and several function rooms suitable for hosting meetings, weddings and events. The large Empire Suite has space for up to 700 guests, making it perfect for big weddings and conferences.

    Your role in our family:

    As a Guest Service Supervisor, key to your role is:

  • To provide a safe environment for Splendid Family Members and guests
  • To monitor shift procedures, ensuring checklists are completed in the correct manner
  • To supervise the multiple departments, working operational shifts as required
  • To comply with the company policies regarding Fire, Health & Safety, Food hygiene and Security
  • To support your line manager in training and development of team members
  • To support other team members when dealing with guest complaints
  • To complete Hotel banking and petty cash controls as needed.
  • To ensure that rooms are cleaned to the SHG and Brand standards required, and turned around in an efficient manner
  • To be proactive in generating sales and referring sales leads as well as upselling products and services where possible
  • To carry out the responsibilities of a Guest Services Assistant when required
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Being responsible for all departmental training including departmental induction, training for new members of staff, continuous retraining of existing staff.
  • Keeping all training records in order and updating them.
  • Ensure all guests are greeted in a friendly and courteous manner, completing reception tasks such as check in and check out as required at times designated by business levels
  • To undertake Front of House duties, including meeting, greeting and attending to the needs of guests, to ensure a superb customer service experience.
  • Build a good rapport with all guests and resolve any complaints or issues quickly to maintain high quality customer service.
  • Monitoring the room type availability and resolving any imbalances in available room types with the Reservations department.
  • Being able to assist or take over from junior colleagues if required during certain circumstances.
  • Perform other duties as assigned including serving on bar and in the restaurant, cleaning duties, action special guest requests, etc
  • To assist in carrying out security and fire checks throughout the hotel and car park
  • Be fully aware, and adhere to, hotel emergency/fire evacuation procedures
  • To have an up-to-date knowledge of the hotel facilities and actively promote them to our guests
