Our delivery team have been recognised as best in class with a firmly established PMO and this position provides an excellent opportunity for the right person to showcase their knowledge and ability to influence positive change within a highly respected law firm.

    We have embarked on an ambitious consolidation and upgrade roadmap, that will see the majority of services aligned with the IT and Business Strategy. The ideal candidate will be capable of communicating at a senior level, offering a pragmatic approach and collaborating across multiple teams, departments and 3rd party suppliers.

    Introduction to the team:

    The IT Delivery, Change and Operations Teams are a dynamic group of IT Professionals based across Liverpool, Manchester, London and Singapore. The team are responsible for day to day support, service management, implementation and security of IT Services to all HD users globally. 

    Our team are currently working with some of the latest technologies in the market and working with a number of blue chip providers along the way.

    We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated, friendly and pragmatic professional who is willing to learn, willing to teach and willing to work closely with others.

    Key responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the definition of customer requirements in order to produce a detailed project scope, goals and deliverables;
  • Develop and agree project delivery plans with the customer to achieve the required project success;
  • Ensure projects are set-up and initiated consistent with project governance;
  • Identify appropriate resources and assign responsibilities;
  • Manage project tasks and resources to carry out the work and ensure quality of delivery;
  • Liaise with the wider IT department in order to add value;
  • Develop, agree and implement a communication and engagement plan for each project;
  • Develop, agree and implement a change management plan for each project;
  • Ensure project documents are current, completed, and appropriately stored to ensure robust project controls;
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the projects;
  • Support the project sponsors and owners in establishing a relevant and effective Project Board;
  • Estimating costs, ROI and time requirements of projects;
  • Manage and regularly update project budget(s);
  • Track tasks and project deliverables using appropriate tools;
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project deliverables;
  • Recommend IT strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends and anticipating possible requirement changes;
  • Coordinate checkpoint reviews to support project stage decisions;
  • Monitor and report on project progress, issues and risks to all relevant stakeholders and the customer;
  • Ensure Lessons Learnt and Case Studies are compiled and shared in a timely way.
  • Communication

  • Contribute and support communications from the IT Department;
  • Ensure internal communication channels within the IT department are effective so as to engender a “one-team” culture within the department across the world.

    In conjunction with the lead PMO Team Leaders:

  • Motivates, empowers and trusts others to take responsibility;
  • Provides staff with development opportunities and coaching to realise their full potential;
  • Demonstrates role model standards of behaviour;
  • Delegates work appropriately and fairly.
  • Operational Management

    Through careful leadership and management:

  • Encourage benchmarking, wider reading, analysis and the making of proactive recommendations, for the improvement of PM value within programmes and projects;
  • Develop, manage, test and continually update the firm’s business continuity plan of which the major part is IT;
  • Where appropriate, regularly educate the wider IT department and its customers;
  • Recognise abilities to work with others to get things done;
  • Work outside of the project team with the broader IT department;
  • Trouble-shoot and problem solve with the wider IT department to improve operational effectiveness.
  • IT Strategy

  • Help in the development and maintenance of a full business, firm-wide IT strategy via an inclusive and business driven approach;
  • Help effectively communicate this strategy to customers and relevant suppliers / partners.
  • Budgetary Control

    Responsible for managing, monitoring and updating all relevant project financials
