Job Introduction

We would love to hear from experienced Production Coordinators who are passionate about TV and interested in working on our content, to work across a raft of exciting new productions. You must be available over the next few months.

We are also interested to hear from Senior Production Management Assistants who are ready to make the step up to Production Coordinator.

The successful candidates will form a pool of people that we give priority to when opportunities come up. Appointment to the pool will not entitle candidates to permanent contracts in the BBC, those will have to be applied for in the normal way, and neither does it guarantee work.

Role Responsibility

You will report to the Production Manager, and in partnership with the editorial team, help to deliver outstanding, distinctive, multi-platform content.

The Production Coordinator will help provide logistical and coordinator support to their production teams, potentially working across a number of programmes, at any one time, ensuring delivery on schedule within budget and within operational and financial constraints.

You will also contribute to, and help to implement, practical actions to reduce environmental impact throughout production.

Supporting the Production Manager, you’ll be clearing copyright quickly, sourcing resources and locations, problem solving, retrieving quotes from suppliers, and negotiating deals. You’ll be working to tight deadlines, sometimes under pressure, while always producing work to a high standard.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A genuine interest in The Documentary Unit and BBC Studios Factual Glasgow’s output.
  • Demonstrable Production Coordinator experience within a production team with TV broadcast credits
  • You’ll have multiple credits as a Production Coordinator across factual productions.
  • We are also open to hearing from experienced Senior Production Management Assistants, must have experience working with TV crews and production teams with a strong knowledge of how productions are managed
  • Experience of setting up complex international shoots would be advantageous (will be essential on some of our productions)
  • Experience in delivering to multiple platforms 
  • Knowledge of co-ordinating and delivering a range of/elements of productions on time and on budget to a variety of broadcasters
  • Confident at negotiating rates with external suppliers and raising contracts
  • Copyright and archive experience.
