Payroll and Finance Assistant
Location: Oldbury, B69 2BP
Contract Type : Permanent
Working Hours / Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, between Monday to Friday, however weekend work will also be required at times.
Salary: £19,000 to £21,000 per annum
Serco’s Environmental Services provide a complete waste and recycling service on behalf of the residents and community in Oldbury. With a professional, dedicated and friendly team of Refuse and Recycling staff, we ensure that streets, homes and businesses are kept clean, safe and tidy, whilst providing the very best levels of customer service to all members of the community that we serve. And right now, we have an opportunity for a Payroll and Finance Assistant to join our team of essential workers and help us make a positive difference to the environment we all live in.
In this role you will work within a small team and the day to day responsibilities include making sure that administrational management of payroll is complete and accurate each month by the required dates, raising purchase orders and invoices, and chase vendors for payment and make sure the vendors are up to date.
Additionally, you will also be collaborative working with the operational departments on the Sandwell contract which include refuse and recycling, street cleansing, HWRC, Disposal and vehicle maintenance team.
What do I need to do the role?
To be considered for a position within our team, all we ask is that is that you have payroll and SAP or equivalent experience and it is desirable that you have experience of operating in a business that is focussed on compliance and environmental experience.
You will have good attention to detail, be computer literate, have the ability to manage your own workload effectively and efficiently with the ability to adhere to deadlines. You will have good communication and customer skills, be organised and able to plan and prioritise tasks, as well as having an analytical and logical approach in problem solving.
