In due course, they will also be expected to contribute to the leadership and management of the Department.
Applicants must have, or be about to complete, a relevant PhD in Politics/International Relations (with a focus on IPE) or a related subject and will need to demonstrate the potential to produce high-quality publications and to provide excellent teaching.

The Department of Politics, Languages and International Studies is a vibrant, friendly and supportive Department, delivering highly-acclaimed undergraduate programmes in Politics and International Relations, Politics with Economics, International Politics and Language, and postgraduate degrees in International Relations, International Security, Gender and Politics. The Department has particular research strengths in Conflict, Security and the International Order; Gender; Populism and Radicalism, and the Politics of Culture and Memory.
Research conducted in UK institutions is subject to an external review every seven years through a process called REF. The Department submits its research to the Politics and International Relations panel for the REF. We are, therefore, looking for an IPE scholar whose work is suitable for Politics and International Relations journals. Communicating research to wider audiences and finding ways to generate societal impacts from research is highly valued in the UK. Generating grant income (often from government and charity research funding schemes such as the Economic and Social Research Council, the European Union, or British Academy) is also an important aspect of British academic life.
The Department values equality, diversity and inclusion. As Athena Swan Bronze Award holders, we are committed to offering equal treatment and opportunities to our workforce and student body. As such, we welcome applications from all, regardless of personal characteristics or background.
