Job Title: IT Solutions Lead 

Location: Solihull

Salary: up to £65,000

IT Services underpin Serco teams in many of the key public services we deliver in the UK, Europe and globally, making a difference to thousands of people every day. As the IT Solutions Lead, you will support various business units by understanding clients’ requirements and identifying gaps between requirements and current IT capabilities. You’ll also understand not just the IT needs of the business but also the overall impact of proposed solutions to the profitability of the business or bid.

In this role we will be looking for you to utilise your knowledge and experience to provide architectural guidance and design leadership to Technical Delivery teams and explain technical issues and IT solution strategies to stakeholders and other IT professionals as required. You will liaise with business representatives, Divisional IT leads and IT Professionals to architect and design solutions for business operations and bids. You’ll also guide the activities of Solution Design to ensure timely completion of Technical Delivery projects.

What you’ll need to do the role

Firstly, you will need to be a tech ‘all-rounder’ as solutions are likely to include several applications and technologies. You’ll need a thorough understanding of modern IT Infrastructure, applications and Cloud based technologies is essential. Experience covering Government outsourced opportunities and practical experience of their business requirements. The Ability to identify technical issues and be able to design solutions to fix them and most importantly, you should be flexible in making plans and program decisions.
