About the role

Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for an IT Field Engineer to join our team.

Role Purpose:

Working across the HS2 Integrated Project Team (ITP), the roles primary purpose is to effectively and efficiently deliver installation and day to day support of project offices and project sites IT Facilities. As well as ensuring the customer experience and satisfaction of all Information Technology & Communication services provided by BBV to their workforce.

**Please note you will be required to drive to various offices each day, all of our offices are within the West Midlands. You will need to have a driving licence and due to the locations of the sites they are not accessible via public transport.

What you’ll be doing

  • Proactively maintain all IT facilities on the site
  • Proactively resolve systems issues through adopting a flexible approach and creating innovative solutions which maintain an acceptable balance between risk, reward, and customer service.
  • Assisting with the Mobilisation on Project locations
  • Ensuring IT facilities are pro-actively maintained
  • IT Facility Support
  • Coordination with BBV, JV Partner, Client and suppliers IT teams
  • Coordination of facility changes during the project
  • Day to day Tablet and laser scanning device support & mobile device support
  • Ensure that leavers are removed from systems
  • Leavers Data is backed up and stored in location agreed by project
  • IT Support Document Creation
  • Asset Management
  • Additional Project IT Expansion
  • Weekly Progress reports during the mobilization phase
  • Calls being logged in to the IT Call logging system (service now)
  • IT Hardware Training
  • Onboarding of JV Users onto O365
  • Video conferencing training
  • Who we’re looking for

  • Experience of working as an IT Field Engineer
  • Demonstrable IT Infrastructure Domain knowledge
  • Office 365 & MS
  • IT experience in Desktop or Infrastructure Support
  • Knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
  • Experience of handling service complaints
  • Self-starter who demonstrates teamwork at the highest level
