The Installation Manager is responsible for the smooth running of the project (s) whilst maintaining the quality, safety, and cost control of the project.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management and establish standards of quality on site and ensure delivery of a quality build in accordance with the project specifications and project requirements.
  • Ensure all H&S information provided by the Project Manager is distributed to operatives and sub-contractors and displayed where appropriate.
  • Accommodate site H&S audits (Internally and externally) ensuring fully compliant reports
  • Arrange works in accordance with project programmes, track progress and control operations to achieve delivery of the project on time.
  • Where possible, using consolidated work information, create effective working patterns and programmes of work for planned and ad-hoc jobs.
  • Organise the works, materials and supply chain to provide the right working environment to avoid disruption between trades.
  • Understand the client priorities and adopt a professional and considerate approach to maintain excellent working relations.
  • Undertake the works in the most economic manner to eliminate waste and avoid non recoverable costs and preliminaries losses.
  • Control costs, timing and quality in line with targets.
  • Adopt the best practice set by J Tomlinson and manage community relations.
  • Ensure appropriate site image is maintained to encourage repeat business.
  • Mitigate risks of complaints when working on/in and around occupied premises.
  • Implement & comply with systems & standard procedures.
  • Ability to work co-operatively with multi-disciplined groups.
  • Resource Management – Coordinates people and materials to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Safety – Follows safety precautions and displays safe on-the-job behavior.
  • Managing Conflict – Manages hostility between individuals or groups when disagreements occur.

  • Must have a good understanding on the Gas/Electrical industry and ideally have Gas Qualifications or working knowledge.

Context of the Role:
The role will include the management of multiple schemes and supervisors. The geographical coverage will be the full breadth of Regeneration activity, but consistent excessive travel will not be required without JTL providing accommodation.

There is the possibility of out of hours working subject to business needs but this will be by exception.
