We currently have an exciting opportunity for a 2-10 year PQE lawyer to join our dynamic legal department. Jacobs offers agile working and the base office proposed would be Jacobs Glasgow office. We need someone with a solid legal training who is ready to be challenged in a fast-paced, commercial environment and is not afraid of genuine responsibility. However, you will not be working in isolation as training, supervision and mentoring will be provided.

Worldwide, the Group’s legal team numbers around 117 employees The EMEA legal team comprises 25 employees who support and advise the business on many aspects of our numerous high-profile projects both in the UK and overseas in our two Lines of Business, one being People & Places Solutions and the other Critical Mission Solutions International which is shortly to be renamed North America Nuclear. The Legal team works closely with our Sales and Operations colleagues and with Management at all levels.

This role is supporting People Places & Solutions Line of Business throughout the EMEA region. The team are based in the UK, Milan and the Middle East with an additional resource in Poland

The role on offer is immensely varied and challenging and will give the successful candidate the chance to extend their knowledge and skills while making a real contribution to an exciting range of legal and commercial work.

 Reporting to a senior solicitor within the team, the successful candidate will: 

  • Take responsibility for a wide range of contracts, from bid stage to negotiation and completion, including contracts with clients, joint venture agreements, data sharing agreements, guarantees, sub-contracts and confidentiality agreements. 
  • Advise management on all aspects of legal risk 
  • Provide legal support to operations during projects
  • Deliver training in house to Sales, Operations and Management
  • Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor with up to 10 years PQE.
  • They will have an LLB degree.
  • The candidate must have sound commercial and/or contract law experience.
  • The successful candidate will also need to be able to demonstrate an ability to identify risk, good commercial awareness and a clear and effective communication style. 
  • Desirable:

  • Knowledge of construction law particularly experience with NEC contracts.
  • Non contentious IP experience including IP licensing.
