Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Technician

Job Type: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, though part time hours of 30 hours per week may be considered. The grade reflects that weekend and evening working may be required to do essential IT maintenance at times outwith staff core IT usage time.

We now have an exciting opportunity for an ICT Technician to join the CNPA as the organisation transitions towards a blended approach for flexible working between home/office working.

The Role:

The role of ICT Technician is a key supporting role within the CNPA. You will support the day to day running of the ICT infrastructure and assist with the implementation of our Digital Strategy through infrastructure enhancements, helping to ensure that our systems are current and up to date and staff are able to carry out their roles through the use of technology. You will be joining the CNPA at a critical time for ICT in the organisation, as we transition towards a blended approach for flexible working – home/office working; the transfer to the SWAN (Scotland Wide Area Network) network; and migration to Microsoft 365, other cloud based services and data management, and continued enhancement and adoption of technology, meaning that you will have opportunities for continued professional development.

As the ICT Technician you will play a part in our collaboration on delivery and support of ICT services with Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority, affording you opportunities for networking.

  • About You:

    To be considered as our ICT Technician, you’ll need:

  • Knowledge and experience on the support and maintenance of both hardware and software in a Windows 2012/16 Server environment with Windows 10 clients.
  • Good knowledge of Active Directory, MS Exchange.
  • Understanding of the proposed direction of travel with regards to MS 365, Sharepoint, CRM System etc.
  • Practical experience of supporting software applications for a range of activities.
  • Good knowledge and experience of: Network management and monitoringNetwork access control and securityMobile device managementMicrosoft OS, VM, Exchange
  • The ability to prioritise a diverse and demanding workload and work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to develop longer-term projects and deal with day to day issues.
  • Ability to analyse and process data.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentational.
  • Full UK driving licence or access to driver if disability prevents driving.
  • A degree or equivalent in a suitable subject, evidence of continued professional development, experience of Local and Wide Area Networking including VPN and VoIP technologies, Knowledge of SQL Server, Support and GIS applications and ability to work on projects with minimum supervision would be beneficial to your application.
