Salary:  17,433.82 to 19,860.93 (Pro rata) per annum

We have an exciting opportunity at our Additional Housing Management Service in Staffordshire, where you will join our friendly and inspiring team as a Support Worker. Your role will be a permanent position working part time,28 hours per week based in the service. You will need to be able to work flexibly, and have access to your own vehicle.

Our tenancy support service provides high quality accommodation and low-level housing management support for people affected by mental illness aged 18 years and above, who are at risk of not accessing or sustaining a home because of their mental health, vulnerability and/or a history of housing related problems. We have a portfolio of properties across Staffordshire, this position is mainly being based in Cheadle, Staffordshire but on occasions you will need to cover other areas of the service.

What will you be doing?

You will be supporting someone in their recovery by helping our tenants to sustain their tenancy and helping them to lead a fulfilling life, this can involve things like,

  • Assisting people with setting up and paying their bills, budgeting, managing debt and applying for welfare benefits.
  • Completing property inspections, reporting repairs, and supporting each tenant to ensure they are managing the condition of their home.
  • Signposting to other agencies for support with health, social activities, employment and education opportunities.
  • Completing tenancy sign ups and property relets and supporting new tenants to understand their obligations within their tenancy agreement.
  • The safety and wellbeing of our service users and colleagues is our first priority, which is why it is now a condition of employment for anyone joining us that they have either had the recommended Covid-19 vaccine or agree to have it when offered by the NHS.   • Willingness to work towards QCF Diploma / NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care
  • Ideally, we would like you to have some experience or understanding of Mental Health Recovery and Housing services however Support Work isn’t all about qualifications.
