Here at Serco, within our Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract (AASC) we focus on assisting individuals through the asylum system, ensuring that vulnerable asylum seekers have access to the support they need along with a high standard of accommodation.
Due to growth and expansion, we have an exciting opportunity reporting directly to the Deputy Contract Director for AASC with an indirect line into the Head of Management Information (MI) Services for Justice & Immigration (J&I).
The Head of Data Analytics and Strategic Performance is responsible for ensuring that the production of reporting and the analysis of data is performed in an efficient, ethical and constructive manner. Working closely with the Central MI Service, this individual will be responsible for the timely publication of reporting, the accuracy of information and the sophisticated analytical insight necessary to drive decision making within the contract.
One of your primary objectives will be to ensure that the business has the data and insights needed to drive the business efficiently. In order to do this effectively you will have to work with other functions within the business to ensure that data is of the highest quality and support, where required, with the implementation and refinement of process to enable this to happen.
You will need to be data literate and recognise that data is an asset that drives decision making, business improvement and innovation. You must be numerate, analytical, and comfortable with statistics. You must have strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to converse with managers and leaders and support them within their contracts to validate, interpret and create reports and presentations for contract and business unit Directors.
This is a demanding and complex role which needs you to develop and lead a clear Demand and Capacity Framework to drive the performance of the various workstreams and guide the business in the relevant direction, to improve performance and support the management of the necessary risk and rewards.
You will work with the Management Team to support them and their teams to create an effective suite of clear performance measures and targets for the delivery and sustainment of capacity. These measures must identify and quantify all potential areas of capacity loss in both operational and commercial terms. The measures developed will be maintained and analysed on an ongoing basis to provide a prioritised action plan for the reclamation of lost capacity and reduction in operating costs.
With your strong leadership and abilities to influence executive decisions, you will also:
- Work with members of the MI community within J&I to standardise and unify data integrity, reporting, analytics and the dissemination of intelligence.
- Turn data into meaningful information to drive performance and work alongside analytics teams to draw insight from data to direct improvement initiatives.
- Draw insight from data to direct efforts for process efficiency and identify key internal value drivers that impact the overall performance of the contract.
- Proactively work with department heads within contract to improve the functioning of individual departments, the synchronization of activity between departments and the utilisation of technology within departments.
- Harness the use of the contracts digital footprint to improve efficiency of operations, the production of management information and business intelligence and the maturity of its analytical footprint.
- Synchronize efforts with the central MI Service to ensure that science is applied to decision making and activity areas are accurately targeted.
What you’ll need to do the role
You will be a performance professional with an expertise in the communication of business intelligence and quantitative and qualitative analysis and have previous experience of digital transformation; either as a Senior Management Executive (SME) or work stream owner.
Experienced in process improvement and tackling process inefficiency with demonstrable experience of managing diverse teams of individuals.
Knowledge of ICT systems and the relationship between IT and business.
