The Role

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Head Chef to join our friendly and supportive team at Newcroft.

Here at Newcroft we provide a respite service for up to 8 guests with learning disabilities. We provide meals from breakfast thru to supper including snacks as required. We strive to provide an inclusive and person-centred service, ensuring that all guests have the best possible experience whilst staying with us. We provide a diverse and varied menu to encompass all dietary requirements. We use fresh local produce and pride ourselves on the flexibility and diversity of the menu we provide.

The role of Chef/Cook here at Newcroft will integrate many aspects of catering with our guests to support our values and goals of inclusivity and choice.

The Chef/Cook at Newcroft is a very important and integral part of the experience of our guests, so we are seeking a Chef/Cook that:

  • Is self-motivated.
  • Has a good knowledge of Learning Disabilities.
  • Is able to support our guest access the kitchen appropriately & safely.
  • Has good communication skills.
  • Provides a flexible and healthy menu.
  • Ensures daily paperwork is in order.
  • Ensures the kitchen complies with all health & safety and infection control regulations.
  • Plans monthly menus, provides special events and themed meals.
  • Uses fresh local produce.
  • Can work flexibly throughout the year to meet the needs of the catering requirements.
  • Has an effective working knowledge of special dietary needs
  • Playing a key role in running our busy kitchen, ensuring our home is a caring and homely environment for our guests is our main priority and we are seeking to find an individual who shares our values of being person centred, working together, accountability and resilience – could this be you?
