About the role

Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Project Manager to join our team to work across the West Midlands region.

Role Purpose:

Manage and co-ordinate the environmental sub consultancy contracts which supports the delivery of environmental scope through the technical leads, EMR compliance manager, Environment and Sustainability Managers and the sublot teams. To support with the management and relationships with HS2 technical leads

What you’ll be doing

  • Fully understands the environmental sub consultancy contracts, processes and advises the core and delivery teams on these resources.
  • Responsible for the implementation, process, and management of the environmental sub consultancy contracts with support from procurement and commercial teams
  • Support the HoES with the development and implementation of technical assurance for each technical discipline
  • Support the HoES with the update and communication of environmental project risk awareness
  • Support the HoES with the collaboration with client, designer and third parties. Works to share best practice within the HS2 scheme and wider industry.
  • In general support the Head of Environment and Sustainability
  • Who we’re looking for

    The following qualities/ experience are essential/desirable:

  • Member of an environmental professional body.
  • A sound understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment process, environmental legislation, impact mitigation and dealing with statutory authorities.
  • Good experience of managing a variety of environmental risks and understanding their impacts in terms of time costs and reputation.
  • Understanding of the benefits of working collaboratively to obtain the best outcome for the project
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience of environmental assessment/mitigation on linear infrastructure schemes.
  • Determination to see tasks through to completion, with excellent project management and organisation skills
