We are a small but growing disabled persons charity with 75% of our disabled trustee members and over 50% of paid disabled staff.

We provide free legal advice to disabled people and their carers.  Established in 1975 we provide advice covering employment, discrimination, welfare benefits, community care, housing and debt.  We are also involved in advocating changes in laws and policies both at our own initiative and in support of other disability charities.  Our policy work is supported in Parliament by our patron, Rt. Hon. Sir Ed Davey MP, and we have academic support from another patron, Professor Luke Clements, Cerebra Professor of Law and Social Justice at the School of Law, Leeds University.

We are looking for a well-motivated professional individual to join our Legal Aid Community Care & Housing team and contribute to services and work done by Disability Law Service.

You will have excellent communication and practice support skills. You will be experienced in conducting legal research, drafting, interviewing, advising and negotiation. You will be eager to develop your skills and experience, and work as part of a team of professionals.
