About the role

Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for a Design Project Manager to join our team to work in Birmingham.

Role Purpose:

Responsible for delivery of one Sublot design to programme and budget.

What you’ll be doing

  • Demonstrate the BBV behaviours.
  • Responsible for the project management of a large multi-disciplinary Design Joint Venture team, located across multiple offices in the UK and overseas.
  • Delivery of a permanent works design package for the Sublot within budget and programme constraints.
  • Delivery to meet the project Key Performance targets.
  • Plan and ensure mobilisation (including onboarding and induction) of the resources required to deliver the design packages.
  • Planning of design activities to optimise resources to meet approval and consent applications and construction start dates.
  • Work in accordance with the project processes and procedures.
  • Responsibility for overseeing Risk Management for design, escalating where necessary design risks to the project risk portal (Xactium or similar).
  • Supporting contract administration working with commercial functions.

  • Who we’re looking for

    The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • Qualified Project Manager or similar equivalent, with multi-disciplinary breadth
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of the construction environment
  • Experience of working with a major design consultancy
  • Highly organised with good management and coordination skills
  • Demonstrates the BBV behaviours, respecting equality and diversity
  • Leading teams, people management skills, effective delegation, mentoring & coaching and developing others
  • Knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations
