Deputy Regional Manager – Testing Services

Here at Serco we’re helping the UK Government address the challenges posed by Coronavirus – and to actively support them in combating the spread of the disease we’re now recruiting for a Deputy Regional Manager to oversee the vital testing programme in the West Midlands region.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, this role will see you support the Regional Manager to create, maintain and sustain a safe operating environment for customers and staff across all regional, local and mobile testing units and prison testing sites in London, ensuring all managers comply with Serco operating procedures and processes.
You will be accountable for the ongoing operational effectiveness and efficiency of the sites and take ownership for the leadership and operational command of all testing activities withiin the region. You will also take responsibility for all key logistical ite,ms such as PPE stock on site, submitting reports, support the Mobile Testing Units and coordinate their operation.
The role will entail all aspects of health and safety, security and maintaining relationships with local councils, landlords, law enforcement and key stakeholders at all levels.
You will also be accountable for customer service and experience, the recruitment, management and development of staff throughout the region, including resource planning to required operational levels.
There will be extensive travel around the region involved in this role so its important that you have a driving licence and are happy to travel.
What you need to do the role
To be successful in this role, you must have demonstrable operational and management experience within a large team, with experience of managing key stakeholder relationships at all levels and budgetary compliance, expenditure and control.
Due to the requirement for travel between sites in the region, it is essential you hold a full UK driving licence.
Lastly, this role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office.
