Ravensbourne is looking to recruit a dynamic, inspirational, dedicated, innovative and future thinking Course Leader to join our BA Hons in Fashion Buying and Brand Management Course. The Fashion department is fast becoming acknowledged as a force within the industry having recently shown at London Fashion Week, New York Digital Fashion Week and Graduate Fashion Week. The Fashion Buying and Brand Management course scored 96% satisfaction rate in the NSS 2020. We are passionate in ensuring all our students are equipped to be leaders in our industry.

You will be joining a forward-thinking international fashion department with strong leadership, ambition and drive. You will have a passion for entrepreneurialism, sustainability, circular economy and multi-disciplinary industry approaches. You will have specific skills and industry experience in one or more of the following; Fashion Management, Marketing, Branding, Retail, Visual Merchandising, Buying and Business strategy. Ideally you will have extensive experience of buying and management which should include working knowledge and understanding of forecasting, manufacturing, fashion management strategies, contemporary creative networks, digital three-dimensional imaging, global trends and London’s vibrant fashion scene.

You will have strong industry links and manufacturing connections at the forefront of ethical and inclusive models with an emphasis on future proofing and digital delivery.

This course has been designed to provide students with the mindset and skills needed to succeed in industry. We encourage creative flair, an eye for trends, business acumen and management skills. The course places a strong emphasis on gaining practical work experience and enterprise.

The FBBM course units have been crafted to give students the confidence to put theory taught in class into practice during group projects, individual work placements, industry briefs and business proposals. Using the Adobe suite and online fashion resources, students will develop the creative and practical skills to enable them to plan a range, promote a brand, generate a professional report, pitch an idea and ultimately understand the business of fashion.

The successful candidate will lead the team in shaping, developing, repositioning and creating a dynamic and industry facing course with innovation and leadership at its core. He/she will have a first degree or post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject, and should be able to demonstrate good, recent professional knowledge and experience (both industry and academic) in the areas outlined. The ability to design inventive teaching and learning strategies that bring these career roles to life will be essential. The candidate will possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to engage students directly with their chosen industry and strong leadership and management skills to lead a team will be essential.

Applicants should have the ability to employ creative learning and teaching methods, as well as experience in the area of curriculum development and delivery.
