About the team
You’ll be joining a team of highly motivated delivery and supplier management professionals, in the delivery of print and digital products. We are a very busy department, supporting Pearson’s Product Development Division with the Assessment and Qualifications business unit, as we drive forward our large-scale digital transformation. There are lots of exciting challenges and opportunities to develop and embed change!
About the role
The Content Delivery Manager role is varied and fast paced and has responsibility for getting UK Schools products to market quickly, efficiently, and on budget. The Content Delivery Manager works closely with internal stakeholders and partner suppliers (providing editorial, design and digital services), and proactively drives multiple varied projects.
With a focus on digital transformation, you will ensure project requirements are fully scoped out, identify and streamline end-to-end digital workflows and processes and have a good understanding of cross-functional interdependencies.
You will excel in this role if you enjoy working with people and use your people skills to engage, influence and drive the work of teams. You will have excellent relationship and performance management skills and will play a key role in ensuring our suppliers have the support and guidance they need in order to meet our business needs.
In addition to the day-to-day driving of projects, you will champion continuous improvement and establish best practices in areas such as quality, budget tracking, scheduling, supplier management and documentation.
Key activities include:
Helping foster a positive, teamworking culture, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across a range of functional areas and driving a collaborative approach towards a shared goal.
Active engagement with product discovery and scoping, ensuring there is a shared understanding of requirements and workflow.
Supplier cost management, including negotiating project costs and issuing contracts; tracking and controlling spend; and communicating budget updates to stakeholders.
Managing supplier performance through regular review points and quality gateways, capturing feedback from project teams and handling difficult conversations.
Implementing good project setup procedures according to agreed governance, including creating project schedules for handover to the supplier.
Monitoring and mitigating project risks and issues, following the appropriate risk escalation pathway, taking a solutions-focused approach.
Being accountable for project delivery, acting as the first point of escalation, tracking and reporting on project progress.
Taking a lead on business improvement initiatives and championing continuous improvement within projects through regular project reviews.

We are looking for someone with the following skills and qualities:
Excellent organisational and project/programme management skills, with experience delivering projects to time, cost and quality.
Understanding of project management methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
Experience in supplier/vendor management.
Experience working on fast-paced digital or technical projects, with an understanding of digital content production tools.
Ability to proactively manage multiple, conflicting priorities, and work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Communication, relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills.
Ability to understand problems, define appropriate solutions and take action.
Ability to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities for process improvement, and lead in managing change and ambiguity.
Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
Experience of a project management tool, such as Smartsheet or Microsoft Project.
