Transform outcomes for adopted children and their families
We are seeking an experienced and passionate adoption Children and Families Support Worker who can apply professional knowledge to transform outcomes for adopted children and their families. Joining our team based at Glen House, you will work with a team of qualiﬁed social workers, with the focus of the role being to support adoptive families when children are placed for adoption until an Adoption Order is made.
You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to all different kinds of people, plus the motivation to grow in your role through personal and professional development. You will have proven experience of undertaking direct work with families and a sound understanding of developmental trauma and the needs of looked after children. You will have a good understanding of therapeutic parenting models. Experience of delivering training would be beneficial.
A strong communicator capable of building good working relationships, you will need good record keeping skills and the ability to deal with and resolve issues sensitively and effectively.
You must be able to able to make regular journeys to different locations around the region, including remote, rural locations which are inaccessible by public transport. You will also need to work ﬂexibly, providing support where required to support families at weekends and evenings.
