Catering Assistant

Part time 15 Hours a week (casual hours consisting of mornings, evenings, and weekends)

Location: James Cook University Hospital, TS4 3BW

Salary: from £19,000 per annum, pro rata, dependent upon experience + enhancements

James Cook provides a wide range of district general hospital services and specialist services such as neurosciences, renal medicine, spinal injuries, major trauma, cardiothoracic, vascular surgery, gynaecology, urology, cochlear implant and cancer services.

It has a 24-hour emergency department which houses the major trauma centre for Durham, East Cleveland, Tees Valley and North Yorkshire and has its own helipad.

 

As Catering Assistant, you will help provide retail service that meets the expectations of the patients, staff and visitors both in terms of quality, safety and value for money. Maintain high cleaning standards in line with HACCP system and produce chilled food (such as sandwiches) of consistent high quality in accordance with agreed KPIs and Service Level Agreements across the site hospitality function. You will assist in maintaining and developing key daily service financial targets within the retail outlets.

 

What you’ll need to do the role

In this role strong communication and customer care skills are essential. Ideally you will hold experience within catering but most importantly you will have a bright and bubbly personality with a passion for delivering great customer service.

You will need to have flexible availability to cover a range of different shift patterns.
