Job overview

This apprenticeship post will be working alongside an established and experienced administration team.

The team supports the community nursing and therapy teams to provide high quality care to patients. 

The successful applicant will gain experience in a range of administrative tasks as part of the apprenticeship programme ranging from appointment management, stock ordering and management, administration for triage of new patients.

The role will also involve supporting the recruitment of staff in the locality.

Following completion of apprenticeship programme it will be expected that the post holder will possess the relevant skills and experience to join the team of skilled administrators within DCHS.

The main duties of the post are outlined below.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide first contact via telephone for queries, respond to day-to-day enquiries and maintain an efficient message taking system
  • Assist with archiving activities and filing updates e.g., personal files, complaints files etc.
  • Enter and extract data from DCHS systems as needed
  • Accept e-referrals from SystmOne and ensure these are then triaged and actioned by the clinical team as per local Standard Operating Procedure
  • Allocate patient appointments
  • Collate and compile patient notes
  • Be responsible for the ordering of dressings for dressing hubs
  • ORACLE ordering / receipting
  • Developing and maintaining effective electronic and paper filing systems, to ensure that information is kept securely and is accessible to other members of the team.
  • Responsible for the ordering and monitoring of stock requirements for the team ensuring appropriate agreed stock levels are maintained
  • To work with the Senior Team Administrator to provide effective diary management and appointment scheduling for the team
